Bible Reading:  Matthew 18

Forgiveness.  Jesus speaks of forgiveness, and He is very clear as to how we, as believers should be.  It is hard to forgive others who have wronged you.  It is difficult until you remember how much you have been forgiven of.  Jesus does make clear that God will not deal kindly with those that will not forgive others.  I look at my self right now, aggravated at the nonsense of others who have large mouths and little understanding.  It is easy to harbor bitterness towards their actions and words, but it only hurts me.  I have heard it said that bitterness is the only poison you drink to hurt the other person!  Even so, to magnify the seriousness of this, Jesus makes clear that God the Father will involve torment with those who will not forgive (18:34-35)!

Lord give me the grace to forgive those that have wronged me.  Forgive me of my wickedness.  Use me today.  Remind me of these truths.  I ask this in Jesus’ name.
