Bible Reading: Matthew 21
Jesus speaks to Pharisees and others and gives them a few parables. Each parable was identifying them as wrong, sinful, not justified. One was of a man who let out his land to workers and went away. The workers beat servants who came (were sent) to gather the fruit and finally killed the land-owner’s son. These Pharisees (and their ancestors) rejected prophets and they would kill God’s Son! Next, Jesus speaks of two sons, who are asked of their father to go and work. One says, “no”, but repents and goes. The other says, “yes”, but never goes. This parable points to harlots and cheaters that lived sinfully but turned to Jesus. Jesus makes clear that they would enter into the Kingdom of God before the Pharisees!
These men were horribly bad, but made themselves look holy. Jesus exposed them. I desire to please Jesus.
Lord, please use me today. I ask this in Jesus’ name.
